Guide: Reservation Payment Links

Follow the steps below to create a Payment Link

Save as Reservation

  1. Go to the Box Office page, select your Event/Performance and follow the normal steps to add items to your basket

  2. On the Customer page, add the following details - these will then save on the checkout page so the customer won't have to enter them again when they pay:

    1. First Name

    2. Last Name

    3. Email Address

    4. Phone Number - optional

    5. Address - optional

  3. On the Order Options page, select a Delivery Method if you'd like the customer to receive an email with a Reservation Payment Link

NOTE - it may be worth creating a separate Email Template/Delivery Method for this, with its own specific Email Sequence and/or Merge Tags.

  4. On the Payment page, check Basket details. If you want to make any changes or add more items, click:

    1. Back to Order Details to change order/customer information

    2. The Event Title or Performance Date/Time to add more tickets

    3. Add Products or Vouchers which will take you to the Products page

  5. Underneath your basket, click Save As Reservation

When Saving Reservation

  1. On the pop-up, set for when you want the Reservation to expire - select either Never or a specific time

  2. Choose the Purchase Flow that the Customer will use to complete the transaction

NOTE - You must select the Purchase Flow that is connected to your Website. If you just have one booking flow URL, you will likely only need one Online Checkout Purchase Flow. For more info on Purchase Flows, see here.

If you are happy using your Website Channel for the Payment Link, then you can click Save Reservation

    1. If you would like to use a separate Channel for your Payment Link, e.g. if you want to avoid any Basket Validation Rules applying or you want to Report on Payment Links separately to the Website Channel, expand the Advanced Purchase Flow Options dropdown and select a Purchase Channel

NOTE - this Channel must have access to the correct Event, Delivery Method & Payment Method.

  3. Click Save Reservation

    1. If a Reservation Delivery Method was selected with an Email Template that has a Payment Link Merge Tag, then they will automatically receive this payment link when this button is clicked

    2. To send manually, copy and paste the link in the Payment Link section on the Order Page

Send Payment Links

There are three options for sending a Payment Link:

  1. On the Order page, scroll down to the Payment Link section

  2. Click the Copy Link button the right of the URL and you can paste this into an email directly to your Customer

Automatically Send in a Reservation Email/Delivery Method

  1. Create an Email Template with the {{ TRANSACTION.PAYMENT_LINK }} Merge Tag. See here for an example Reservation Email Template

  2. Create a Delivery Method specifically for Reservations and add the above Email Template. You may want to add Payment Reminder Emails to the Email Sequence

  3. Select this Delivery Method when creating your Reservation, on the Order Options page

This means your Customer will automatically receive the email with the Payment Link, according to the Email Sequence attached to the Delivery Method.

Send from Order page

  1. Use the Email Order button

  2. Select the correct Reservation Delivery Method and Email Template. This will manually send the email with the Payment Link to the Customer
