Overview & FAQs: Purchase Flows

Updated over 2 weeks ago

What is a Purchase Flow?

A booking flow that you can use to sell tickets on Line-Up.

This could be the flow used by your Box Office or for your Online Checkout.

What can I use the Box Office Purchase Flow for?

This is for restricting users to certain Channels, Events or Terminals.

For example, if you have multiple venues or users, you can create specific Purchase Flows and lock their User Permissions to it so that they only see certain data.

What can I use the Online Checkout Purchase Flow for?

Purchase Channels and Payment Links. If you wanted to create separate URL links to send to certain audiences/customers, you can create a Purchase Channel within an Online Checkout Purchase Flow.

You can create a link for this Purchase Channel and send to customers to make purchases through that Channel.

If you'd like to create Reservation Payment Links to send out to customers, you will need to create an Online Purchase Flow.

FAQs

Do I need to create Purchase Flows?

Not necessarily. You will already have the Box Office page to issue tickets within Line-Up and the Customer-Facing Booking Flow for your customers to purchase tickets.

The Purchase Flows feature is designed to create more specific checkout flows for users/customers (see above).

However, if you'd like to send out Reservation Payment Links to your customers, you will need to create an Online Checkout Purchase Flow.

Can I restrict a User's access to certain Purchase Flows?

Yes, on the Settings page.

NOTE - this will restrict what data the user can see. So if you lock a user to a certain Purchase Flow, they will then only be able to see the Events and Channels connected to it, along with Orders that have only been made through the Channel(s) connected to that Purchase Flow.

Follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Settings page and then the Team Settings tab

How many Online Checkout Purchase Flows do I need?

If you just have one booking flow URL, you will likely only need one Online Checkout Purchase Flow. It's within this Purchase Flow that you can have several Purchase Channels.

You do not need a different Purchase Flow for each Purchase Channel you create.

What default Channel should I use my Online Checkout Purchase Flow?

The Channel that your Customer-Facing Booking Flow is set up with. This will likely be your main Online/Website Channel.

You would only have a different Default Channel if you have more than one Booking Flow URL.
