Guide: Sell Together & GA Blocks (Hybrid Venue Plans)

What are Sell Together and General Admission Blocks?

Two types of Blocks are available in the Venue Plan Builder, alongside the standard Block used for arena-style plans:

  • Sell Together Block: for when a group of seats must be sold together, for example a theatre box or a dining table.
Customers booking online must purchase all of the seats in the Block in one go.

  • General Admission Block: for Hybrid Venues that combine Reserved Seating with a General Admission space, for example a standing pit in front of seated tiers.
Customers select the GA area on the Venue Plan and are then taken through the standard GA ticket selection process.

Both Block types can be added to a new or existing Reserved Seating Venue Plan, following the normal Venue Plan hierarchy.

Add a Sell Together or GA Block

  1. Open your Venue Plan in the Venue Plan Builder

  2. Click on the plan, outside of any Area or Section, then click the Block icon

  3. In the Settings Panel on the right, select the Seating Type: Sell Together or General Admission

  4. Add details to your Block, e.g. Group Name

  5. Add your Area/Section/Seats to the Block using the Parent Seating Group dropdown

NOTE - you will still need seats if you are selling a Block as GA, as this creates the inventory. If the capacity is large, the seats can be placed outside of the main Venue Plan area, as the Online Booking Flow will follow the standard GA selection process rather than showing the individual seats.

  6. Add a Shape (polygon or circle) to your Block

    1. NOTE - this is optional for Sell Together or GA Blocks, however you will need a shape if you would like hover information on the booking flow (see below), so it is recommended.

      1. Click on the Block first, then Add Shape.

Prices

Apply Price Bands to seats in both Sell Together and GA Blocks on your Price Profiles, following the standard Reserved Seating process.

Availability

An Availability Status can be added to any space in either Block, following the standard Reserved Seating process:

Box Office Display

Box Office users select the seats and tickets individually from the Seat Map, following the standard process.

Sell Together is not currently enforced in Box Office. If some of the seats from a Sell Together Block are sold individually, the remaining seats will still be treated as needing to be sold together in the Online Booking Flow.

Sell Together is not currently enforced for Agent Sales via the API.
