NOTE - Basket Validation on a Venue Plan offers two rules: Basket must not leave single seats (covered in this Guide) and Basket must include all remaining seats of a sell together block, which enforces your Sell Together Blocks in Box Office and your other Channels. Both are set up in the same way.

Create a Basket Validation Rule on a Venue Plan
Go to the Venues page and then click the Venue Plans tab
On the Venue Plan list, click the 3 dots to the right of the plan you want to create the rule for and select Basket Validation from the dropdown
Add Details
Name - for internal use, e.g. Single Seat
Description - for internal use, e.g. Single seat rule for Macbeth
Error Message - this is the message that will appear in the Online Booking Flow when a seat is left by itself, e.g. Please select another seat
NOTE - you can use the {seat_labels} tag if you want to specify the seat that will be left by itself if the Customer doesn't select it.
For example, if the error message you set is Your basket will leave {seat_labels} as a single seat., it will appear in the booking flow as Your basket will leave M57 on Sunday 20 September 2027 at 02:30 PM as a single seat.
Add Rule
Select the Basket must not leave single seats rule from the dropdown
If you'd like to limit the rule, e.g. if you don't want to apply it to your Box Office Channel or to certain Customers, add an Only If condition below and select either:
Bookings made on channels
Bookings not made on channels
Customer Tag
Select the Channel(s) or Customer Tag(s) from the dropdown
Click Save Validation Rule
