Guide: Stripe Payment Terminals

Follow the steps below to set up a Stripe Payment Terminal

NOTE - you will need to register your terminal device as a Terminal Reader on Stripe first. The Stripe Terminal devices we support are BBPOS WisePOS E models.


Add Terminal

  1. Go to the Tools page on the left-hand side and click Payment Terminals

  2. Click Add Terminal

  3. Under What type of terminal are you using?, select Stripe Terminal


Add Details

  1. Name - a name for the Payment Terminal to help identify it easily

  2. Description - optional

  3. Model - any three digits

  4. Reader ID - this can be found in your Stripe Dashboard

    NOTE - do not use the Serial Number that's on the device, because it will not work for this field on Line-Up. You will need the Reader ID from the Stripe Dashboard, which looks like tmr_123abcXYZ.

    To find it on Stripe:

    1. Log in to your Stripe Dashboard

    2. In the left-hand menu, go to Payments > Terminal > Readers

    3. You'll see a list of all connected or registered readers

    4. Click on the reader you want and you'll see its details panel, showing the Reader ID, its Label or nickname (if you've set one), Location and Status (online/offline)

  5. Tags - help identify your Terminals on the Terminals page

  6. Click Submit Terminal to save

Edit or Delete Payment Terminal

  1. If you need to make changes, click Manage on your Payment Terminal list

  2. Click Edit to make changes

  3. Click Delete to remove it from your Terminals

NOTE - to restrict which Terminals a User can see at Box Office, restrict the Terminals on their Purchase Flow.


Add as Payment Method

  1. Go to Settings on the left-hand side

  2. Click Payment Methods and then New Payment Method

Add Details

  1. Type - select Stripe Terminal from the dropdown

  2. Use testing mode? - optional, this will allow Users to check out with Stripe test cards and should not be used in a live booking flow

  3. Connect a Stripe Account - this will take you to the Stripe website, where you can follow their instructions for connecting your account

  4. Once you've connected your Stripe account, you will be taken back to the Line-Up Payment Method page, where you can enter these details:

    1. Name - for internal use only

    2. Channels - which Channels does this Payment Method apply to?

  5. Click Submit to save
