What is a Payment Method?

The type of payment ticket buyers and Box Office users can use to put through orders.

This is where you can connect to a 3rd party payment platform, e.g. Stripe or set up an external terminal, e.g. Adyen.

NOTE - For Adyen and Square Payment Methods please contact us for further assistance before setting them up.

What are the different types of Payment Methods?

You can create the following on Line-Up:

  • Stripe

  • Adyen or Adyen Terminal

  • Square

  • Custom - used for orders where you don't want to take money from the customer, e.g. test orders.

  • Voucher

  • Solt - for Theatre Token payments

FAQS

Do I need to set up Payment Methods on my Event once I've created them?

No, once you have added them on the Settings page and enabled your Channels, they will be ready to use for payments.

What Payment Providers can I create a Payment Method for?

Stripe, Adyen and Square are the platforms that are integrated with Line-Up. If you are interested in working with a Payment Provider that are not integrated with us, please contact Support.

What should I add for test orders at Box Office?

You can add and use a Custom Payment Method.

NOTE - only have this enabled for your internal Channels as this will complete Orders. You do not want to enable this for your Website Channel.

Can I create a Payment Method for Theatre Tokens?

Yes, by creating a SOLT Payment Method. You can read our Guide for further details.

What are Theatre Tokens?

It is the only national reaching Gift Card and eGift scheme that is available to be purchased at certain participating theatres and retail outlets.

They are issued by The Society of London Theatre (SOLT), a not-for-profit organisation representing the London theatre industry.
