Guide: Rush Tickets

If you would like to create a 'Rush' offer (i.e. via TodayTix), then the best option is to create a Discount and attach it to either an Availability Status (if you have Reserved Seating) or its own Price Band/Variant (if you are GA).

NOTE - if you are selling via an Agent such as TodayTix and you are only selling a discounted price, i.e. no standard/full price, then you can create the price as a Full Price Variant instead of creating a Discount.

Follow the steps below for the different options.

Discount

  1. Go to the Discounts page on the left hand side

  2. Click New Discount

Discount Rate

  1. Select between:

    1. Percentage

    2. Fixed (i.e. £10 off the price)

  2. Enter amount to take off

Visibility

  1. Click the Visibility tab

  2. Channel Visibility - click Edit on the Third-Party/Agent's Channel

  3. On the pop-up, select a Visibility Start and End Date from the following options:

    1. Never

    2. Always

    3. Specific date and time

  4. Would you like to automatically apply discount to channels?

    1. Leave this Disabled - In order to access the discounted price, the Third-Party/Agent will need the Coupon Code. If this option is enabled, they might not know which price is full price and which is discounted.

Coupons

NOTE - this is the code that you can share with the Agent so that they can access the Rush price.

  1. Select option for Coupon Code creation

    1. Manually create codes

      1. Name of code - the code Customers will enter to apply the discount

      2. Limit the number of times this coupon can be used? - NOTE, this is the number of times per Transaction, not per Ticket.

      3. Start Date / Time (optional)

      4. End Date / Time (optional)

      5. Manually enter as many coupons as you would like

  2. Click Submit to save details

Add Discount to Prices

  1. Add Discount to your Event's Price Table(s). Make sure to add Adjusters if needed

NOTE - If selling GA and want to allocate a certain amount of tickets to this price, you will need a separate Price Band and Variant. See the GA section below for more details.

Assign Rush Price to Capacities

If you would like to allocate a certain number of tickets to your Rush price, then there are two options.

Availability Status (Reserved Seating)

  1. Go to the Availability tab on your Event and select the Venue Plan you want to set the Status on

  2. Create a new Availability Status

    1. Select your seats

    2. The correct Channel(s) (e.g. TodayTix)

    3. Choose Allocation instead of Lock

    4. Add an Activation Schedule if you wish
See our full Guide for instructions.

NOTE - you can amend the seats you'd like to use for this offer/Status per performance once you've created the Status.

  3. Attach the Discount you want to add to your seats.
This will mean these seats won't be available for the Channels you've chosen until the Coupon Code is entered.

  4. Save Availability Status

Apply Availability Status to Performances

  1. Select the Performances tab on your Event

  2. Use the Filter and Action bars to add the Availability Status to the correct Performances

NOTE - this will mean every Performance will have the same seats attached. If you'd like to adjust the seats per Performance, see our Guide.

  3. Share the Coupon Code (see Coupons above) with the Agent. They'll then use it to access the seats available in the allocation and the Rush price you've created

Create Rush Band and Variant (GA)

  1. On your Price Table, create a new Price Band that will be exclusive for the Third-Party/Agent

  2. Mark the Variant you're using for your other bands as n/a - otherwise the Channels on this Variant will see this Band

  3. Create a new Variant and add only the Agent Channel to it

    1. Make sure that the only price set for this Variant is on the Rush Band. Mark as n/a for the others

  4. Apply any applicable Adjusters to the Variant

NOTE - if the Agent is accessing the Rush price through a Discount, you will need to add the Discount to this new Variant. See the Discount section above for instructions.

  5. On any Price Profiles that uses this Price Table, you'll need to assign it a capacity in order to allocate a certain number of tickets to this price

This means that all Performances linked to this Price Profile will have this new Rush Band

  6. If you would like to change the capacity for this Band on an individual Performance, you can do so on the Performance Edit Capacity page, without affecting other Performances. See here for more details on managing capacities

  7. Once the Price Table is published and the Band has been set a capacity, the Agent will see the Rush price on the API. If it accessible through a Discount, share the Coupon Code with the Agent
