Box Office - New Performance List View

Available: 29 May 2026

We have created a new performance list view for Box Office users.

What's New

We have made a change to Box Office to position the Events and Product tabs to the right side of the screen, and added a new item, Performances.

The Events and Products menu items work as they do today, clicking Performances will give box office users a new performance list view of all performances that box office channel has access to:

Some key features:

  • Booking Info can be seen by hovering over the 'note' icon beside the event name

  • On the date banner, you will find a summary showing the number of performances and events that day:

  • And for each performance, you will see an indicator bar that shows the Availability Status of each price band when you hover over it, as well as a Sold Out indicator where there is not space available:

  • Lastly, filters are available on the top right, above the list, that allow you to narrow the performance list by Date, Venue, Day of Week and Performance Tags. You can also hide sold out performances:

Support for Multiple Tax (VAT) Rates

Available: 29 May 2029

We are introducing the ability to apply a different tax rate at the Price Table Variant Level.

What's New

In line with recent UK Government announcements for reduced VAT rates for children and families over the summer period, we have introduced the ability to override the Tax Rate that is applied to a price table at the variant level.

Tax Rates can be configured in the Organisation settings, and additional tax rates can be specified:

These can be used for selection when creating a Price Table or Adjuster as the Default Tax Rate.

To override the Default Tax Rate, when you right click on a variant in the price table, we have added a new Manage Tax Rate option:

When this is clicked, a Manage Tax Rate pop up will be displayed, clicking the Override Tax Rate toggle will show a drop down that will allow you to select the Tax Rate you wish to apply to that variant:

Once selected, click Done to apply the override:

The Manage Visibility setting can then be used to ensure that the variant is only made available on performance on the required dates.

Additionally, the UK Government announcement also supports reduced tax rates for families, i.e. on adult tickets when booked with children. These can also be set up as variants in the price table with the applicable tax rate override. It is recommended that you also leverage Basket Validation rules to ensure that these variants are booked together:

Please refer to the Basket Validation help article for information on how to use this feature.

From here, you can specify the numbers of adults and children that are required in order for the variants with the reduced tax rate to be booked.

In the Online Booking Flow, the warning message that you configure in the Basket Validation rule will be shown to the customer in the basket, and they will not be able to proceed until the conditions you set are met:

Manage Roles

Available: Rolling out from 26 May 2026

Users with Owner and Admin permissions can now create and manage custom user roles directly within the Line-Up Dashboard, without needing to raise a request with Line-Up. Custom Roles give you the flexibility to define exactly what each user can see and do, beyond the set of system roles that have been available to date.

Manage Roles are rolling out between Tuesday 26 May 2026, and Thursday 28 May 2026.

What's New

A new Manage Roles section is available in your organisation Settings. From here, Owner and Admin users can:

  • Create a new custom role and configure its permissions,

  • Copy an existing role as a starting point and adjust it as needed

  • Edit a role at any time, with changes taking effect immediately for assigned users

  • Archive a role that is no longer required (coming soon)

Permissions are configured by top level area, each with a choice of None, Read, or Edit access. A Custom option is also available for more granular control within a given area. Each high level area can also be clicked to expand and see the granular permissions that are available.

For full instructions on creating and managing custom roles, see the Manage Roles User Guide in the Knowledge Centre.

System Roles Update

Available: 26 May 2026

Three system roles that are not in active use are being removed: Event Manager, Front of House, and Analyst. This change takes effect on 26 May for all organisations.

What's New

The Event Manager, Front of House, and Analyst roles will no longer be available as assignable roles within Line-Up. The remaining system roles (Owner, Admin, Box Office Admin, Box Office, and Finance) are unchanged. If you have team members that do not fit within these roles and you need to provide limited access, this can be set up as a Custom Role.

Action required if applicable

If any users in your organisation are currently assigned one of the three roles being removed, please reassign them to an appropriate role before 26 May. If no action is taken, once this implementation is complete, they will be assigned as Box Office users by default.

Dashboard navigation menu update

Available: 26 May 2026

The left-hand navigation menu in the Dashboard is being updated to display items dynamically, based on each user's permissions, rather than a fixed set of items determined by their role.

What's New

Today, the menu items shown in the left-hand navigation are fixed for each role. From 26 May, this menu will be driven by the permissions associated with each user's role.

For users with existing System Roles, this means the navigation menu will display more items than it does today. This is because system roles carry a set of 'read' permissions required for those roles to function, which are now reflected in the menu.

The example below shows how this change affects a user with the Box Office or Box Office Admin role.

Left Side Menu - Before

Left Side Menu - After

The additional menu items are visible but not actionable beyond a user's existing permissions. A Box Office user will not be able to create, edit, or take actions in areas outside their current role. The way they use the platform day-to-day is unchanged.

What to tell your team

If team members notice additional items in their navigation menu, you can reassure them that their permissions have not changed. They will be able to navigate to those areas but will not be able to take any actions beyond what their role currently allows.

Custom roles

Available: Coming soon

Support for Custom Roles is coming to Line-Up. This will give team administrators the ability to define roles and permission sets directly within the Dashboard, with more flexibility than the current set of fixed System Roles allows.

What's New

The new Manage Roles feature will allow Role administrators to:

  • Create named roles with a custom set of permissions, configured by high level functional dashboard area.

  • Start by duplicating a system role or build a role from scratch.

  • Assign a Custom Role to users at the point of invitation or at any point thereafter.

  • Manage and update roles without raising a request with Line-Up.

NOTE - System Role users, 'Admin' and 'Owner' will have the permissions to create Custom Roles. Role will be a specific, granular permission that can be applied to a Custom Role.

Full release notes, including a step-by-step guide to managing roles, will be shared ahead of launch. If you have any questions in the meantime, please contact our Client Success team.

Dashboard Settings screen: side navigation menu

Available: 12 May 2026

The tabs across the top of the Settings screen will be replaced with a side navigation menu. This brings Settings in line with the new menu structure approach that we are rolling out across the Dashboard.

What's New

The Settings area previously used a horizontal tab bar to move between sections. These tabs are now presented as a vertical side menu on the left of the screen, with the content area to the right.

This is a navigation and layout update.

Refreshed login screen

Available: 12 May 2026

The Line-Up login screen will be updated with a refreshed design. There are no changes to the login process itself.

What's New

The login screen has a new look and feel for clients who log into Line-Up directly, splitting the user name input from the password. Functionality is unchanged.

NOTE - If you have two factor authentication (2FA) set up, this will need to be reset following this implementation.

This does not impact clients that leverage their own Single Sign On (SSO) process.

Team Member management

Available: 12 May 2026

The Team Members area within Settings has been updated with several improvements to make it easier to find, invite, and manage users in your organisation.

What's New

Member search and filter

You can now search and filter the team members list directly from the Team Members screen, making it quicker to find a specific user in larger organisations. Additionally, a role filter is available, this will filter the user list by the role selected:

Updated invitation flow

The process for inviting a new team member has been updated. The invitation flow now guides you through the required steps in a clearer sequence, including role assignment before the invitation is sent. Clicking 'Invite user' will show the invitation pop-up:

Add the email address, and select the role to apply from the drop-down. Clicking 'Invite' will send the email invitation to the user:

Once the invitation is sent, the user will show in the Team Members table with the label 'Invited'. Clicking the three dots to the right of that user allows you to resend the invitation, or revoke it if it has not been accepted

NOTE - The invitation email remains is valid for seven days.

Manage user menu

A new manage menu is available against each team member, giving administrators quicker access to common actions such as editing a user's role or removing them from the organisation.

Updated user profile

Available: 12 May 2026

The user profile screen has been updated with a refreshed look and feel. There are no changes to the information held in your profile or how it is managed.

What's New

The profile screen has a new design, bringing it in line with the updated look and feel introduced elsewhere in the Dashboard.

⚠️ Action required: Multi-factor authentication

As part of this update, existing MFA configurations have been reset. If you have MFA enabled on your account, you will need to set it up again the next time you log in following this implementation. With this implementation, MFA with an authenticator app is required.

Purchase Flow access limits

Available: 12 May 2026

The way purchase flow access is applied to a user will be updated. Access limits are now configured in a dedicated Access Limits section within Settings, rather than at the point of user invitation.

What's New

A new Access Limits option is available in the Settings side menu under User Restrictions. From here, an administrator can select any user in their organisation and restrict their Box Office, Order, and Customer access to one or more specific purchase flows. Clicking Settings > Access Limits, will display the list of users that have purchase flow limitations applied:

To apply a purchase flow restriction, click 'Create Access Limit' on the top right of the table, select the user you want to configure, enable the restriction toggle, and select the purchase flow or flows they should have access to. Only orders placed through the assigned purchase flows will be visible to that user.

To remove a restriction from a user, click the user in the table that you want to update. From the resulting pop-up, you can toggle the limitation off, or where multiple purchase flow restrictions have been applied, these can be removed individually.

NOTE – The list of transactions a user sees in Box Office and Orders will reflect their purchase flow restrictions. If a user is limited to a specific purchase flow, they will only see transactions made through that flow.

Custom roles: coming soon

Support for custom user roles is in development and will be rolling out over the coming weeks. This will give administrators the ability to configure roles and permissions directly within Line-Up, with more flexibility than the current set of default roles allows.

We will share full release notes, including a guide to configuring custom roles, ahead of the release. If you have any questions in the meantime, please contact your Client Support.
