Overview & FAQs: Channels

Updated over 3 weeks ago

What is a Channel?

The place where tickets are sold, e.g. Website Channel, Box Office, Ticket Agent, etc.

The Channels function makes reporting easier, as you’ll know where sales are coming from, and will determine which data everyone has access to.

Why do I need Channels?

In order for users to access the Event data you create. Without any Channels, you won't be able to see or sell any tickets.

Channels are an account-wide feature on Line-Up and exist across all elements of account and Event creation - Payment Methods, Delivery Methods, Performances, Prices, etc.

Because of this, Channels should be one of the first things you create when you set up your Organisation.

FAQs

What Channels do I need?

At the very least you will need a Box Office/Admin and Website Channel, in order to sell tickets on the Box Office page and the Customer-Facing Booking Flow.

After your Organisation is created, you will get given a Default Line-Up Channel. Most users make this their Box Office Channel.

If you are selling through any third-parties such as ticket agents, they will also need their own Channel. See here for more info.

How do I provide my Channels access to my Events?

On the Events page, where you can give your Channel(s) access to the performances and prices for your Event.

You can also set an On and Off Sale Schedule for your Channels on the Performances page of your Event.
