Overview & FAQs: Integrations with Line-Up API

Updated over 2 months ago

How does external systems integrate with Line-Up?

By integrating with our API.

Once the external system has done the integration on their side, we will provide them with an API Key so that they can access our software.

What is API?

It is a process to retrieve data.

Specifically, it is a series of URLs that is used to access software.

If external systems, such as Ticket Agents, want to sell our client’s tickets via Line-Up’s software, they will need access to the Line-Up API.

How does Line-Up integrate with other systems?

We have an External Integrations feature, whereby you can can configure integrations with other ticketing systems.

This involves Line-Up accessing their API, as opposed to the other way round.

See our External Integrations Guide for more info.

FAQs

Which systems are integrated with the Line-Up API?

We have a full list here. The list includes other software ticketing systems, ticket agents and various partners who we work with to help sell our clients' tickets.

How does an external system integrate with the Line-Up API if they are not already integrated?

Please ask them to contact Support and we will send them our API docs.

Depending on the system and their experience, integration with our API can take as short as a few weeks but sometimes can take a matter of months.

The system has integrated with your API - what next? You will need to give them access to your Event data:

  • Set-up a Channel for them

  • Give that Channel the appropriate access to the Event(s), Performances and Prices.

When the Channel is set-up, we will let you know the API Key for that Channel. This is a token which allows them to see the data you give that Channel access to.

See our API Integration Guide for full instructions.

What is an API Key/Token?

A code that allows external systems to see the data you give that Channel access to.

As long as the system is integrated with Line-Up, we can generate a Token for them.

You just need to create a Channel for them and we will send you the API Token for that Channel, which you can pass on.

See our API Token Guide for full instructions how to generate one.

Is there anything else I need to provide the external system?

Yes, they will need the following:

  1. The Line-Up API URL - https://api.line-up.tickets/api/

  2. Delivery Method ID - for the Delivery Method that are using

  3. Payment Method ID - for the Payment Method that they are using

See our API Token Guide for more info on the above.
