Guide: Create a Multi-Event Discount

Follow the steps below to create an automatic Discount when multiple Events are added to the Basket

To achieve a Multi-Event Discount, you can create a Basket Discount with a Visibility Rule based on Event ID.

This will allow for an automatic Discount to be applied when these Events are added to the basket.

Create a New Basket Discount

  1. Go to the Discounts page on the left hand side

  2. Select the Basket tab in the right-hand side menu

  3. Click Add New Basket Discount in the top right

  4. Enter a Name for the Basket Discount and click Submit

Set Your Price Rule

Prices is where the Discount amounts or percentages are defined. For a multi-Event Discount, set your basket value threshold specifically as the following:

  1. Click the Prices tab

  2. Click Add Rule

  3. For your rule, set:

    1. The basket value threshold - for this type of discount, set your threshold as:

If basket value is greater than £0

This will mean that as soon as the items from multiple Events are added to the basket, the value will be greater than £0 and the Discount will apply.

    2. The reduction - set as a fixed amount off or a percentage of the basket

      Fixed amount example:

If basket value is greater than £0 - The reduction will be 25 £

      Percentage of the basket example:

If basket value is greater than £0 - The reduction will be 25 % of basket

NOTE - If you choose the percentage option, this would apply to the total value of the basket. This means that the Discount would not only apply once your chosen Events have been added to the basket, but it would still apply if further Events are then added (as the Discount is based on percentage of the basket).

  4. Click Submit to save

Set Channel and Event Visibility

Click the Visibility tab, which is split into three sections.

Channel Visibility

  1. Select the Channels where the Discount will be available

  2. Set your On Sale and Off Sale schedule for your Channel(s)

  3. Click Update to save

Apply to Channels

Toggle this on to have the Discount automatically applied once tickets from your Events are added to the basket.

NOTE - this means the Customer will not have to enter a code.

Visibility Rules

This is where you can add your Multi-Event rule:

  1. Enter Name and Description

  2. Choose Type - select All Rules must apply

  3. For Rules, set the following ruleset for each Event you'd like the Discount to be applied to:

Event - Id - in - [Event Name]

NOTE - Visibility Rules check whether the defined item is present (or absent) in the basket. They do not limit what else can be in the basket (see note about percentage option above).

Coupons

Leave this section blank as this Discount applies automatically.

Online Booking Flow

By following the above set-up, it means that once all your Events are added the basket and the user gets to the checkout page, the Discount will apply:

If you would like to direct the Customer from one Event to another, there are various options:

Booking Info

Use the Booking Info sidebar to link your Customers to the other Events which the Discount works for:

You can add this text to the Booking Info section on your Event Info page.

NOTE - you can set your Booking Info sidebar to be permanently open if you wish. Contact Support for that option to be turned on.

Performance Description

You can also use a Performance Description to link Customers to a separate Event:

This text will appear when the user hovers over the i icon on the calendar.

Because the Performance Description is a plain text field, in order to create a link, you will need to add a line of code to the field on the Performance page. Follow these steps:

  1. Click into the Performance you want to edit and scroll down to the Performance Description field

  2. Copy and paste the line below into the field:

    <a href="PASTE YOUR LINK HERE" target="_blank">YOUR LINK TEXT</a>
  3. Replace PASTE YOUR LINK HERE with the full web address you want to link to (make sure it starts with https://)

  4. Replace YOUR LINK TEXT with the words you'd like customers to see and click on — for example, "Go to Tiger Cub to get your multi-Event discount":

  5. Save the performance

This will also mean the information appears on the Booking Info sidebar when you click into the Performance on the booking flow:

Calendar Text

We can customise the wording underneath the main calendar, with a link to your chosen Event(s):

If you would like to use this option, please contact Support to set this up.
