Support for Transaction-Level Adjusters (Transaction Fees)
When: Immediately
To date, Line-Up has supported ticket and product level outside adjusters that are applied on top of the base ticket/product price. With this change, we will be providing support for transaction level adjusters.
Dashboard update
We have added a new setting to Adjusters, allowing you to specify whether a fee applies to each individual ticket or product, or as a one-off transaction fee applied to the whole order:
On selecting 'Transaction', only fixed amounts may be added:
Once the transaction level adjuster is created, the amount cannot be modified:
Once created, the transaction level adjuster is applied to your price table in the same way as any other adjuster. By applying it to specific variants, you can control exactly which tickets or products trigger the fee, allowing you to accommodate any necessary exemptions:
NOTE - When adding a transaction level adjuster to the price table, the amount is view only, it cannot be modified.
Changing the Transaction-Level Adjuster (Transaction Fee)
Transaction-Level adjusters cannot be edited once created. If you need to change the fee amount, you will need to create a new transaction-level adjuster and apply it to the relevant price tables, removing the original.
Online customer booking
In line with CMA guidelines (UK), all ticket and product fees are included in the price displayed to customers throughout the booking flow. With the introduction of transaction-level adjusters, these fees must also be presented to customers wherever pricing is displayed.
In Line-Up, the first time a ticket or product price is shown to a customer, it will include all applicable ticket and product fees, as well as any transaction fee that may apply:
In the example above, the ticket price includes two fees:
Ticket fee @ £1.50
Transaction fee @ £3.00
Once a ticket or product is added to the basket, the transaction fee is moved to a separate line item above the order total. The ticket or product price in the basket continues to reflect all applicable ticket and product fees, whilst the price displayed in the booking flow is updated to remove the transaction fee, as this is now shown in the basket:
If all tickets and products are removed from the basket, the booking flow will revert to displaying the full price inclusive of the transaction fee.
Transaction adjusters applied to tickets and products
A transaction adjuster can be applied to both ticket and product price tables. Where the same adjuster is applied to both, it will only appear once in the basket, regardless of how many tickets or products are added.
If you need the transaction fee to apply separately to both tickets and products, a different transaction level adjuster must be applied to each.
Improving Adjuster management in Dashboard
When: 20 February 2026
With the introduction of transaction level adjusters, we are taking the opportunity to improve how adjusters are managed in the dashboard.
We are updating how adjusters are created and managed in the dashboard. You still access adjusters by selecting 'Tools' on the left panel, and 'Adjusters':
Once you click through to Adjusters, you'll see some key changes:
The menu to view either 'Item Level' or 'Transaction Level' adjusters will be on the left side, we have added a 'search bar' at the top of the table, and there is a new 'filter' button on the right side:
The initial selection will be 'Item Level' adjusters i.e. ticket/product fees, and the full list will display in the main table. There is a new column, 'Type', that indicates whether each line is an 'outside' or 'inside' adjuster:
Clicking the 'Filter' button, you can specify which adjuster type you want to view:
Typing in the search box will also filter the list according to your search criteria:
The same features are available when 'Transaction Level' is selected on the left side menu:
Create new adjuster
When clicking 'add adjuster', an updated screen will display for the creation of an adjuster.
At the top of the screen, you select whether the adjuster is an Item Level, i.e. a ticket/product related fee, or Transaction Level, i.e. transaction fee.
The selection for Inside or Outside is further down the screen:
Channel selection is also changing to align with the way channel selection is completed in products.
We are replacing the channel list with check boxes, with a 'search and select' box:
As noted, when a transaction level adjuster is created, only 'fixed' amounts are permitted, and the amount cannot be modified once the adjuster is saved.
